The Core Principles of Business Continuity Management

This course has been divided into seven sections, consisting of an introduction, and six lessons each covering a stage of business continuity management lifecycle.

  1. Introduction: An overview of business continuity management
  2. Lesson 1 - BCM programme management.
  3. Lesson 2 - Understanding your organisation.
  4. Lesson 3 - Business continuity strategies.
  5. Lesson 4 - Developing a business continuity response.
  6. Lesson 5 - Testing and exercising business continuity plans.
  7. Lesson 6 - Embedding and maintaining business continuity management capability.

Who should take this course


This course is aimed at managers or business owners who want to initiate a business continuity management programme within their organisation. This course takes the participants through the business continuity management (BCM) lifecycle in the context of local resilience.

Costs and funding


The cost of this course is £280 plus VAT.This will grant you a licence for online access to the course for a period of 3 months, allowing adequate time to accommodate flexible attendance and revisions. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

* Be a registered business or charity.
* Have a business address in Coventry.

If you satisfy these two conditions, you will get free access to participate in the "The core principles of business continuity management",  You need :

  1. Your business 'Property Code' for your business property in Coventry. This is printed on your Non-Domestic Rates Bill issued by the rates department at Coventrycity council. If you do not have access to your Non-Domestic Rates Bill, call Coventry City Council and they will be able to assist you with your property code.
  2. When you get your property code, note down the last 10 digits of the Property Code.
